How to make a custom Tabletop pattern
We can come out and make a pattern of your table for you or supply you with the paper for you to make your own to bring in to us.
Step 1 - First we need an approx. size of your table.
Step 2 - Next we will give you the paper for your pattern, precut with holes in the center to secure it to the table will tracing the edge.Secure to table using masking or painters tape, this will keep pattern from moving around while templating the table.
Step 3 - Once the paper is secured to table, use the side of a crayon or pencil to trace the table.. Hold the pencil or crayon on an angle to "rub" the edge of it against the inner most line of the table where the glass is going to fit to. Darker colors will show up better: Red, Blue, Black all work great. Yellow will also show up but can be more difficult to see so make sure to keep moving the pencil so that fresh paint from the pencil will be rubbed off against the paper to get a clear dark line.
Use the side of the pencil to mark the paper, rubbing back and forth will transfer the paint to the paper leaving a nice clean line of the table edge.
Step 4 - Once you have traced your whole table, you should end up with your lines meeting nicely together where you first began tracing. Now you can remove the tape, roll the paper up (trying not to crease it) and bring it into us for your glass to be fabricated. Remember, the glass we cut will match the pattern you bring us. It very important to have the most accurate and cleanest pattern possible as the glass will reflect this.
Note: We will not accept patterns of table mats you may have had made for your table. They are often rough sizes and do not match the contours of your table. Also please remember that we hand cut, grind, and polish this glass, so any imperfections of a pattern will be slightly multiplied. We strive to present our customers with the most exact replica of their tables in the form of glass and with this are usually exact or to within 1/16" of the table.
