Standard Glass Offers a vast selection of custom framed and Frameless Shower enclosures. Framed Showers typically are 3/16" thick glass, semi-frameless 1/4" - 3/8" thick, and Frameless 3/8" and 1/2" thick. Frameless Shower Door products are available in many stock finishes to enhance the decor of surrounding environment. There are bright mirror-like finishes that sparkle, antique and high-tech finishes, and painted finishes such as black, white and red for the more unconventional setup. Our top of the line frameless shower doors consist of almost no framing at all. They are fastened with a series of clips and hinges that hold panels into place with clear seals and sealants that seal the enclosures from any water escaping. We use solid brass or stainless steel so durability is never in question. Unlike inferior hardware made of cast and plated metals, our Hinges and Clips are intended to last the lifetime of the enclosure, with little risk of the degradation or discoloration found in lesser grades of hardware. Frameless Door Order Process

You've decided you want to update your bathroom with a custom shower enclosure. Terrific! First thing to do is call or stop into our office to discuss your many different options and pricing available to you. Once you've done this we can then send out a tech to measurements of your opening. (Note : Framelss doors have very strict tolerances in terms of gaps and spacing. Your opening will have to be completely tiled and any ledges or sills installed in order for us to get the dimensions needed to order glass for your door.) He will take your measurement and discuss with you further the more specific options for your door.
I.E.: - Your preferred shower design.
- The swing of your door.
- Hardware finish and models.
- Glass thickness, color, coating etc.
After we have all this necessary information we will call you back with a quote and will draw up your door for ordering. Once you have ok' d everything you will have to put down a deposit and the glass and hardware will be ordered. Shower doors are made from glass that has to be tempered - a heat treating process that increases its strength compared with normal glass and creates balanced internal stresses which cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. This process creates a lead time of 1-3 weeks for us to receive your glass.
Once we have everything we schedule an appointment for installation. Installation time varies depending on the setup of the shower and how may components have to be installed. Once finished the door cannot be used for a minimum of 48 hrs. so that all sealants can fully cure and avoid the possibility for leaks. Some doors that require the use of acrylic tape for sealing purposes will have to set for 72 hrs. After all this it is now time for you to try out your new shower!

Hard Water? Ask us about Diamond Seal coatings!
Diamond Seal is a product that we can have applied to glass after the tempering process. This product is fantastic for shower doors because the water just rolls off the glass. When Diamond Seal is applied there is no soap scum build up and no more cleaning of the glass with harsh chemicals. For anyone with hard water it's a must to protect your door and investment. This product is so popular that many of our customers insist upon having it applied to all their shower door orders. You may have heard of DFI, Clear Coat, Easy Clean and Tekon Coating. None of these coatings have what Diamond Seal has which is anti-microbial properties. Just take a look at the brochure to find out more.
